Ian Kinsler received a warm welcome from Tigers fans when he was introduced, and then hit a 3-run homer as part of a 3-for-3 day to power an Angels offensive outburst. Luis Valbuena hit 2 homers, and Martin Maldonado added a 2-run shot to make a winner of Nick Tropeano. JaCoby Jones and Jeimer Candelario hit solo homers for Detroit, but Michael Fulmer allowed 5 runs in just 3 1/3 innings.
